  1. In the early morning, you will meet your local guide in Mexico City (commercial center reforma 222) and then take an hour car ride to the historical Teotihuacan site.
  2. The tour starts on the main avenue, which was created 2400 years ago. Here, your local Teotihuacan guide provides an introduction about where the Teotihuacan people came from, why they chose the valley, the way they counted and measured, and how the city was built with the secret geometry and symmetry.
  3. Next you will walk to Quetzalcoatl, the snake temple, and learn about the relationship with the agriculture calendar.
  4. Then your local tour guide will walk you by the avenue of the dead and tell you about the coincidence with ancient civilization – the 3 levels – upper world, terrestrial and the underworld.
  5. On your way to the local museum, your local guide will take you to see one of the three rivers used to provide water to the city and discuss the irrigation processes for farming. In the museum you will learn about the tools the Teotihuacan’s used to build the pyramids.
  6. After the museum and a snack and drink break, your local tour guide will take you to the sun temple and tell you about the way the solar calendar works.
  7. After the sun pyramid, you will walk through the main avenue to see the slope of the city which was used to collect every drop of water, and finally you will arrive at the moon temple and learn about the lunar calendar and how it compares to the Chinese or judge calendars.
  8. At this point, it’s time for an authentic, local Teotihuacan lunch! This will be around 2pm in the afternoon.
  9. After lunch, your local guide will take you to his house! Surrounded by cactus and agave farms, and 300 meters from the lava river, you will learn how the Mayan’s made chocolate from cacao beans. You will have the opportunity to try the chocolate, along with pulque – an ancient drink of the indigenous.
  10. Finally, your local Teotihuacan guide will give you the opportunity to enter into an underground lava cave, created from the volcano, to experience an indigenous ceremony and see where the indigenous extracted the volcanic stones to build the city of Teotihuacan.
  11. Around 3:30-4pm, the local Teotihuacan tour of a lifetime concludes and your local guide drives you back to Mexico City, where you were picked up in the morning. It is about an hour long drive back to the city.
